We can spend so much time thinking about the consequences of a decision, that it can keep us planted in place – afraid to move.
Or, if we decide to move, maybe we take the “safe” option because our life might be turned inside-out if we turn the to the “unsafe” direction. The safe way might not be fireworks, but at least you’re comfortable in your knowledge of not shaking things up.
No judgment. I can ruminate with the best of them. But nothing ever feels so good as when I do what I know to be right.
I know it in my heart. When I think about that particular path, my heart feels warm, and my whole body feels lighter.
In my head, a decision might seem foolish or an impossibility. Those around me, even those who want the best for me, might think I’m insane.
It’s not easy, but it’s simple to do what you know to be true. It’s just one thing to live by. People will make up stories in their head about the consequences of your decision. That’s on them.
It’s not “consequences be damned,” but it’s trusting that the consequences of your actions of doing what’s right will eventually be to your benefit – with better results than you could have even imagined.

You might not see it immediately, but if you follow that path, go over that hill, you just might meet that stream of fresh water to quench your aching thirst.
You know in your heart if you’re doing something just for convenience, or because it’s “easier” to not upset someone. And in your head, you can balance convenience now for a headache or malaise later. That’s not heartwarming.
We can choose to live life with an infinite number of complications. Or we can choose a simple life. Maybe not always easy, but simple.
How does your heart (tell your brain to sit this one out) answer the question, “Which life do I choose?” When the answer warms your heart, be that.
