Going from where you are to where you want to be, goes in stages. There are plenty of ups and downs. Though, I think the most frustrating part of the journey is when you don’t feel like you’re going anywhere.
Whether you’re waiting for a raise or recognition at your job, or you’re waiting to see positive results from all your tennis lessons finally show up in a match – it takes patience and acceptance to see you through the state where the wave on the graph is flat.
You have to uncover acceptance at this time, because it hides underneath layers of judgment. It’s taking too long. Why am I not where I want to be?
Breathe. Would you ever tell a seed that it’s taking too long for it to become a tree? Oh, sapling, you really should be producing fruits and flowers by now.
Of course not. It seems funny and ridiculous to even think that. So, why do we judge ourselves so harshly, when our lives are also a part of this continuous cycle?
During this time, it’s so important to prepare yourself for the next stage. Think about what is the best way to nurture yourself, and to allow yourself the room to grow.
A plant in a pot too small for it, in an environment of turmoil will have stunted growth and probably not last very long.
Your thoughts can be your environment of turmoil. Be kind to yourself. If you have the thought of growth, you are meant to do it.
Enjoy the journey, my friend.
