I’ve been noticing a bunch of things slightly out of synch lately. And it reminds of the Mandela Effect phenomenon.
The Mandela Effect was named after a large number of people who remember Nelson Mandela, the South African anti-apartheid activist, dying in prison in 1983 – instead of being released from prison, becoming president of South Africa in 1994, and passing over in 2013. So, it was a jolt to them, to hear that he died in 2013.
When I first read about this, it was merely a curiosity, since I remember Mandela’s life outside of prison. That is, until I learned of other instances of the Mandela Effect like Forrest Gump saying, “My momma always said, ‘Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get.’”
Well, apparently, these days Momma said, “life was like a box of chocolates” and not is. I’ve always said that quote using is, and I don’t ever remember hearing it otherwise. Okay, I can chalk that up to mishearing the quote.
Things get more iffy with that genie movie with the comedian, Sinbad, called Shazaam – apparently, that was never made.
And then there are The Berenstein Bears. I used to love watching that cartoon. I was always an avid reader, and I had The Berenstein Bears books in my childhood library. They were life lessons learned through a bear family of four.

If you look up The Berenstein Bears books now, it’s The Berenstain Bears, with an “a” replacing the last “e”. I was always a good speller, and I distinctly remember it being pronounced BerenSTEEN (a long “e” in last syllable) and not BerenSTAIN (a long “a” in the last syllable).
When I saw the word “Berenstain” I had no recognition of it. I asked friends my age, “You remember that bear family as a child with the mom wearing a bonnet?” Everyone exclaimed from remembrance, “The Berenstein Bears!”
Yes, we could all have faulty memories. However, I think this is evidence of the quantum physics theory that there are multiple universes all occurring at the same time. And we live parallel lives.
Some lives are very close to the one we are currently living, but the slightest difference in vibration causes different events to occur. When we change our vibration, we jump to a parallel world that more closely matches that vibration.
If you lived your life like you can jump into a parallel world, then you know that things can change. If you feel you are always “unlucky”, know that when you change your thoughts, thus your beliefs, a world of “good luck” can surround you with opportunities abound.
Remembering things differently than Wikipedia tells it doesn’t have to mean there’s a conspiracy. It can just mean that you’re remembering a different timeline – that is what déjà vu is. It’s a glitch in The Matrix. There’s something more out there than you immediately see in your physical surroundings.
And when you know that life is not set ahead of you in only one reality, the possibilities are infinite.
